The Manzano Mountain area is considered part of the East Mountain community.  The specific area here is located East of the Manzano Mountain Range.  This Range of mountains is due South of the Sandia Mountain Range. These two mountain ranges are for general discussion, split by Interstate 40.  To access the area, exit NM 337 South at Tijeras off of I-40.  Travel South through the scenic pass through the small communities of Ponderosa, Escobosa, and Chilili. Within the Manzano Mountain Homes for Sale area are the towns of Tajique, Torreon, and Manzano. The small town of Mountainair is just South of the area.

The beautiful Fourth of July Campground and Trail Head are located due West of Tajique. Campers, Hikers, Photographers, and picnicking families will visit this spot, especially in the fall, to enjoy the stunning colors of the rare forest of deciduous trees that populate the ground and the entire trail system. A day hike out of the Fourth of July Campground will take you to the top of the Manzano Mountain range for exceptional views, color, and beauty.
